If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product, replace it, or refund the purchase price. The choice of remedy is ours. This warranty is provided by KIRA and sits alongside your rights under Sri Lankan consumer protection law.
Warranty periods
| Mattress: pocket-spring core and support foams | 10 years |
| Mattress: fabric cover, stitching, zip and handles | 2 years |
| Beds: frame structure, joints, fittings and workmanship | 2 years |
All periods run from the date your order is delivered. Coverage applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Keep your BuyMe.lk order confirmation or invoice: it is your proof of purchase, and no registration is needed.
What is covered
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use. It does not guarantee a particular feel or firmness, and it is not a promise that the product will never show its age.
For mattresses, covered defects include:
- Broken or defective pocket springs, or coils and wires protruding through the mattress.
- A visible sag or body impression deeper than 3.8cm, measured with no weight on the mattress, where the mattress has been kept on a suitable supportive base.
- Splitting or cracking of the support foams under normal use.
- Within the first 2 years: defects in the cover fabric, stitching, zip or handles.
For beds, covered defects include:
- Structural failure of the frame or joints under normal use within the manufacturer-rated 300kg capacity.
- Failure of fittings, hardware or components due to a manufacturing defect.
- Faulty workmanship that stops the bed doing its job.
What is not covered
- Normal wear and tear.
- The gradual softening and settling of comfort foams. This is normal break-in, not a defect.
- Body impressions of 3.8cm or less.
- A change in your comfort or firmness preference.
- Stains, burns, tears, liquid damage, mould, or a mattress in an unsanitary condition.
- Damage from misuse: standing or jumping on the mattress, folding or bending it, or carrying it by the handles (the handles are for positioning only).
- Damage caused by an unsuitable, broken or unsupportive base.
- For beds: cosmetic wear, upholstery damage from misuse, and damage from prolonged moisture or direct sun.
- Damage caused by pets or pests.
- Unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications.
- Products used commercially (hotels, guesthouses, rental properties) unless we have agreed this in writing.
- Products bought second-hand, or sold by us as clearance or ex-display on an as-is basis.
- Damage in transit. If your order arrives damaged, photograph it before signing the delivery note and contact us straight away: we replace transit-damaged items at no cost, outside this warranty.
Keeping your warranty valid
- Use the mattress on a suitable, supportive base in good condition. Any KIRA bed qualifies.
- Keep the mattress clean and protected. We recommend a mattress protector from day one.
- Rotate the mattress head-to-toe every 3 to 6 months.
- Let it breathe: normal household ventilation is enough.
- Keep beds within their manufacturer-rated 300kg capacity and assemble them as instructed.
How to make a claim
- Contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email with your proof of purchase and a description of the issue.
- Send photos or a short video showing the defect, plus a photo of the base the mattress sits on. For a sag claim, a straight edge and a ruler across the mattress makes the depth clear.
- We assess the claim and may ask for more detail. Please do not send anything back until we confirm the claim and tell you where to send it.
- If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product, replace it, or refund the purchase price, at our choice.
You are responsible for the cost of shipping the product back to us. If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we deliver the repaired or replacement product to you at no cost.
The fine print
- If your exact product is no longer available, we may replace it with a comparable product of equal or greater value.
- Where a defect affects only the fabric cover, we may repair or replace the cover rather than the whole mattress.
- A repair or replacement does not restart the warranty period. The original period continues.
- Our total liability under this warranty is limited to the purchase price you paid, except where the law says otherwise.
Your legal rights
This warranty is voluntary and is offered in addition to your rights as a consumer under Sri Lankan law, including the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 9 of 2003. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits those rights.
